Two-Day Arena Rules & Umpire Clinic

This weekend, July 11 & 12, we're hosting a two day Arena Rules & Umpire Clinic with Bradley Biddle, Arena Umpire Director for USPA Umpires, LLC. Whether you're new to arena polo or have been playing for years, this is a chance to sharpen your understanding of the rules in a relaxed, supportive setting.

Meet Your Instructor: Bradley Biddle

California Polo Club is proud to welcome Bradley Biddle, the USPA Arena Umpire Director, back to lead our Arena Rules & Umpire Clinic.

As Arena Umpire Director, Bradley is responsible for recruiting, training, and certifying arena umpires across the country. He oversees the USPA's arena umpire certification program and regularly leads umpire and rules clinics nationwide. In fact, Bradley is the one who trains and certifies every certified USPA arena umpire in North America, across both the U.S. and Canada.

Bradley comes from one of the most accomplished families in American polo. He is a third-generation polo player, and his brother, Tommy Biddle Jr, is one of only four players in U.S. history to earn the prestigious 10-goal arena handicap—the highest rating possible in arena polo. Tommy was also inducted into the National Museum of Polo and Hall of Fame. Bradley himself is one of the country's most respected arena umpires and instructors in his own right, making this a rare opportunity to learn from someone at the very highest level of the sport.

Opportunities to learn directly from Bradley are rare. We're typically only able to bring him to California about once a year, and the last time he led a clinic at California Polo Club was 2021. This is a unique opportunity to learn the rules, positioning, and decision-making of arena polo from one of the country's foremost authorities.

We've intentionally kept registration affordable because we know many people have weekend commitments. There is no expectation that you attend the entire day, come for whatever portion fits your schedule. Key concepts are reinforced throughout the clinic, so whether you attend for one hour or the full day, you'll leave with valuable knowledge that will make you a safer, more confident player and teammate.

All of our lesson riders will be right there under the tents by the 50 yard line with Bradley throughout both days, so the same concepts will come up again and again as different situations play out on the field. That repetition is exactly how the rules start to stick.

Details: Saturday & Sunday, July 11 & 12 | 11035 Osborne Street, Lakeview Terrace | Members $150, Non-Members $200, Auditing $100
